ACE Charter Schools | Grow. Everyone. Every Day.

Who We Serve

ACE serves our community.

ACE helps our students, parents and communities in complementary ways. Our focus on one directly impacts the other.

ACE is unique in our explicit focus on serving students in at-risk neighborhoods who have struggled in traditional schools. ACE, with its deep neighborhood roots and high level of community trust, not only attracts a higher percentage of low-income, English Learner and Special Needs students than the lowest-performing districts in urban San Jose, but a higher percentage of very low-performing students as well. The children who are likely to end up perpetuating the cycle of academic failure are exactly the students that ACE not only successfully recruits, but helps gain real personal and academic momentum. Like the best charters nationwide, ACE closes the achievement gap; what is unique about ACE is the fact that it reaches that goal with the most disaffected students and disconnected families.

For students, teachers and families the most important work is the development of a Culture of Optimism that provides the basis for an academic program that helps our students and families achieve College-Ready Confidence.

The ACE school culture—based on schoolwide values of Respect, Pride, and Ganas—is the bedrock of all academic success at ACE. We ensure this culture transfers throughout the organization, from our Board of Directors and Management Team to our students, staff and parents.

Students

  • Does your child struggle in school?
  • Does your child need more personal attention in order to succeed?
  • Is your child still learning to master English?
  • Will your child be the first in their family to graduate from college?

The ACE Culture is designed to help students previously disinterested in school find excitement in learning. Attendance rates are over 96% and students are never asked to leave or forced to repeat a grade for state-mandated disciplinary reasons. ACE students, all of whom have a Personal Learning Plan, understand their goals (each student is expected to grow 1.5 years annually in each key academic area), know where they stand vis-à-vis those goals, and are accountable for and proud of their progress and accomplishments.

Parents & Families

ACE is bringing families back into education.

Parents, who often come to ACE concerned (and even skeptical) about their children’s ability to improve, show their commitment through their deep involvement in the day-to-day work of maintaining school culture in a variety of roles ranging from hiring, supervision, giving campus tours, and sitting on the ACE Board of Directors.

Communities

ACE transforms neighborhoods.

ACE rekindles optimism and self-confidence in students who have consistently failed in traditional schools.
