ACE is participating in Silicon Valley Gives and needs your support!
In conjunction with Silicon Valley Gives, the Sobrato Family Foundation and an anonymous donor are providing gift matches to ACE that combine to produce a 3:1 leverage!
What does this mean for ACE? For every $1 we raise here, the donors will donate an additional $3*! If we raise $30,000, we can reach our full match potential of $70,000 and have raised $100,000 total for our students.
What is Silicon Valley Gives? On Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of community foundations, Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) will host the first ever day of giving to raise money for local nonprofits through a single online donation platform. The event aims to inspire and unite our local community to support philanthropic causes, to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most and to encourage potential donors to take action.
All donations received here prior to May 6 will apply to the event.
*The Sobrato Family Foundation will match up to $30,000 of your donations and the anonymous donor will match up to $10,000.
ACE Charter Schools: #1 and Growing
1. We’re #1: Innovate Public Schools released a report in December, 2013 that lists ACE among the top ten middle schools in Silicon Valley in both Latino and low-income student Algebra I proficiency, and #1 among middle schools that have significant populations of English Language Learners. Given that our students came to ACE way below grade level, these results are a great validation of ACE’s model and wonderful testimony to the hard work and dedication of our students, families and teachers.
2. We’re Growing: ACE Charter High School is in its second year and will be adding an 11th and 12th grade over the next two years. Also, three new ACE middle schools have been approved and will be located in the Franklin-McKinley, Alum Rock and San Jose Unified school districts. The Franklin-McKinley and Alum Rock schools will be opening in the Fall of 2014, and the new school in San Jose Unified will open in the Fall of 2015. Stay tuned for more details!
3. We’re Hiring: ACE Charter Schools is looking for talented, committed school leader, teacher and administrative candidates interested in either joining the existing ACE middle and high schools or in opening new middle schools in high-need urban San Jose neighborhoods.
Principals for ACE Empower Academy and ACE Charter High School: will come on board in the summer of 2014 and will lead the two existing ACE schools during the 2014-15 school year.
Startup Principal: will come on board in the summer of 2014 and open a middle new school in August, 2015. The new school will replicate and build upon the successful model at the existing middle school, ACE Empower Academy, founded in East San Jose in 2008, and the two middle schools that will be opening in August, 2014.
Teacher and Administrative Positions: available for the 2014-15 school year at ACE Empower Academy, ACE Charter High School, ACE Charter Alum Rock and ACE Charter Franklin-McKinley.
